1. WHO WE ARE
This website, thisis40.co.za, is operated by This is 40 (Pty) Ltd (This is 40, we, us, our). By using our site or buying from us, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy. These terms include our refund, cancellation and delivery terms set out below.
2. USING OUR SITE
You must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian, to buy from us. You agree to give accurate information when you place an order or make a booking.
3. PRODUCTS, SERVICES AND PRICING
All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable. We try to display products, services and prices accurately, but errors can happen. If we discover an error in the price or description of something you have ordered, we will let you know and give you the choice to continue at the correct price or cancel for a full refund. Products, availability and prices may change without notice.
4. ORDERS AND PAYMENT
Placing an order is an offer to buy, which we may accept or decline. Payment is processed securely through our payment providers. We do not store your full card details.
5. REFUNDS AND RETURNS
We want you to be happy with your purchase. New, unused items in their original packaging may be returned within 7 days of delivery for a refund or exchange, with return shipping for your account. Opened cosmetics, skincare, fragrance and other hygiene items cannot be returned unless faulty. Preloved and second-hand items are sold as-is (voetstoots) and are not eligible for return or refund, except where they are unsafe or materially not as described. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items may be repaired, replaced or refunded in line with the Consumer Protection Act. Approved refunds are paid to your original payment method within 10 business days. 6. CANCELLATIONS
Product orders: if you need to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible at info@thisis40.co.za. If it has not yet been dispatched, we will cancel it and refund you in full. Bookings and services (makeup masterclasses, one-on-one sessions, collaborations, appearances and consulting): deposits are non-refundable, as they hold a slot others could have booked. Cancel or reschedule 7 or more days before the booking and we will move your deposit or issue a credit. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice, or no-shows, may be charged the full fee. If we need to cancel, you may choose a full refund or a new date at no extra cost.
7. DELIVERY
We deliver physical products within South Africa. Orders are usually processed within 2 to 4 business days, with estimated delivery of 3 to 7 business days after dispatch. Delivery times and costs depend on your location and the courier used, and are shown at checkout before you pay. Services, bookings, event tickets and digital items are not shipped. 8. EVENT TICKETS
Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled or materially rescheduled, in which case you may choose a refund or a ticket to the new date. Tickets may be transferred to someone else.
9. AFFILIATE LINKS AND BRAND PARTNERSHIPS
Our site features brands, products and events that Christelle genuinely uses and partners with. Some links are affiliate links, and some discount codes may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Where you buy from a partner brand, that purchase is governed by the brand's own terms and policies.
10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content on this site, including text, images, logos and the This is 40 name and branding, belongs to This is 40 or is used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce or use it commercially without our written consent.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
We provide our site and content in good faith and take reasonable care, but to the extent allowed by law we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under South African law.
12. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
13. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page.
